Jesus welcomed children, and so do we. At Saint John XXIII we receive each child as a priceless gift from God. Children show us what it’s like to be a child of the kingdom of heaven. They show us the beauty and simplicity of trusting God. Children, for us, are signs of faith. In the Office of Religious Formation, our calling is to help parents guide their whole families down the paths of discipleship and fidelity.
Thus, bringing our children up in the Catholic faith is a sacred obligation. Saint John Paul II said that bringing our children up in the faith “is a work of prime importance.” He said that teaching and forming our children “demands great love and profound respect for the child who has a right to a simple and true presentation of the Christian faith.” Our goal is to provide a safe and loving environment in which your child can meet Jesus and grow in love with him. We take up this task every day with zeal, love, and hope.
The Religious Formation Program seeks to catechize children and youth by providing a continued growth in knowledge and understanding of the faith of Jesus Christ, and so help them to wisely apply it most fully in their everyday lives. Jesus says, "No one comes to the Father except through me," and thus we aim to foster their knowledge of Jesus, and deepen their relationship with Him.
